Jefferson Airplane was an American psychedelic rock band that emerged in 1965 from the early San Francisco music scene. The group helped define the region’s signature "San Francisco Sound" through its fusion of folk, rock, blues, and acid influences. Jefferson Airplane was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996.
