The collection consists of one undated handwritten fragment for the opening to "Owner of a Lonely Heart" by Yes. The piece consists of both the opening lyrics and the musical notes for the opening riff of the song. “Owner of a Lonely Heart” was primarily written by guitarist Trevor Rabin with help from lead vocalist Jon Anderson and bassist Chris Squire of Yes. The song is the first track off of their eleventh studio album, 90125, released in 1983.
Biography / Administrative History
Yes is an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968. Yes was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. Trevor Rabin is a South-African born musician who worked on solo demos with Chris Squire and Alan White before joining Yes. In 1983, Chris Squire asked Rabin to join Yes, alongside original founding members Tony Kaye (keyboards), Jon Anderson (vocals), and Alan White (drums), to play guitar for the album 90125. Rabin was the primary guitarist for the band until 1995.
