The Lynette Jeffers Collection on Janis Joplin contains three items relating to Janis Joplin: an autograph, a handwritten party invitation, and a newspaper clipping referring to a set of Joplin's bracelets that were given to Jeffers at a party after a concert. The newspaper clipping is dated October 27, 1991 and the rest of the materials are undated.
Biography / Administrative History
Janis Joplin (January 19, 1943 – October 4, 1970) was an American singer and songwriter. She was the lead singer of Big Brother and the Holding Company until she left to pursue a successful solo career until her death in 1970. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
