Scope and Contents
The Michael “Doc” Dreyfuss collection is dated 1970-1974 and contains undated materials. The collection consists of materials from the band McKendree Spring. Included in the collection are McKendree Spring promotional posters, an 8” x 10” black and white photograph of the band, and flyers, programs, and handbills featuring McKendree Spring, Eagles, Livingston Taylor, Jefferson Airplane, Chuck Berry, James Brown, Bo Diddley, Pete Seeger, Country Joe, and Odetta.
Biography / Administrative History
Michael “Doc” Dreyfuss was a violinist and founding member of the progressive folk-rock band, McKendree Spring.
McKendree Spring was a progressive folk-rock band active in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Members of the band included Fran McKendree (vocals and guitar), Michael Dreyfuss (electric violin), Larry Tucker (bass), Fred Holman (bass), Christopher Bishop (bass), and Martin Slutsky (electric guitar).
