The Jac Holzman Papers span the years 1953-2014. The collection consists of 5.09 linear feet of correspondence, photographs, press clippings, audiocassettes, VHS tapes, and interview transcripts regarding the history of Elektra Records. It includes materials on David Geffen, Jann Wenner, Lenny Kaye, Clive Davis, Jackson Browne, Eric Burdon, and members of the Doors. Series I: Interviews for Follow the Music is arranged alphabetically, and Series II: Business Files is arranged in the order in which it was received. The items in this collection primarily cover Holzman's time with Elektra Records, but also include business papers and correspondence from his time at Warner Communications, FirstMedia, and later years. This collection provides valuable insight into Holzman's long and diverse career, as well as a comprehensive look into the creation and lasting impact of Elektra Records.
