Journey is an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1973 by former members of Santana and Frumious Bandersnatch. With the addition of singer Steve Perry and refinement of their sound and songwriting, Journey released one of the biggest hit albums of the early 1980s, Escape (1981). While quite a few arena rock acts of the 1970s found the transformation into the 1980s quite difficult, Journey continued to flourish and enjoyed some of their biggest commercial successes. Journey was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2017. - NotesAcquisition Note: The Fan Asylum Collection on Journey was received by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a gift from Mica Ertegun on February 17, 2017.
