The collection contains a photograph and line-up card of a tribute to Prince held at a game between the Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Indians on April 25, 2016. The photograph is of baseball player Michael Brantley wearing a purple wristband and is signed by Brantley. The line-up card is signed by the Minnesota Twins and Cleveland Indians players.
Biography / Administrative History
The Cleveland Indians are an American professional baseball team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Indians compete in Major League Baseball as a member club of the American League Central division.
Prince (June 7, 1958 – April 21, 2016) was an American singer, songwriter, musician, record producer, dancer, actor and filmmaker. Known for his magnetic performances, flamboyant style, and vocal range, Prince was an expert guitarist, pianist, bassist and drummer by junior high. He released dozens and dozens of albums throughout his nearly 40-year career. He also invented the "Minneapolis sound," an electric and eclectic funk/R&B/synthrock hybrid that became massively influential in the '80s and beyond. Prince was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.
