Biography / Administrative History
Iggy and the Stooges were an American rock band from Ann Arbor, Michigan that formed in 1967. They disbanded in 1977 when Iggy Pop, the lead singer, went on to a solo career but regrouped thirty years later in 2003. The music style encompasses a multitude of rock genres from garage to punk to hard as well as new wave, jazz, blues, and electronic. The Stooges were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
