- Scope and ContentsThe Michael Stanley Notebook and Photograph document the Michael Stanley Band's ninth album, You Can't Fight Fashion, released in 1983. The notebook contains song lyrics to many of the songs on this album, including "My Town," "Fire in the Hole," "Hard Time," "Just Give Me Tonight," and "Highlife." There are also several songs that do not appear on any of the group's albums or Stanley's other releases. The photograph shows the band with Dick Clark following their appearance on American Bandstand on November 12, 1983. These items will be of interest to researchers looking at popular music from the early 1980s, or those interested in Cleveland music history.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryMichael Stanley is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and radio personality from Cleveland, Ohio. In 1974 he formed the Michael Stanley Band, also known as MSB, which released 11 albums before the band broke up in 1986. The band is known for their record-setting attendance numbers at several Cleveland venues.
