The Clive Davis Induction Speech By Patti Smith is a four page handwritten document used during the 2000 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction ceremony. The speech was written on stationary from the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel and Smith reminisces about her relationship with Davis. She also compares Davis to a phoenix who has risen, risen again, and is "still rising."
Biography / Administrative History
Clive Davis is the founder of Arista Records, and he signed Patti Smith in 1975. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
