- Biography / Administrative HistoryJohn Cipollina (August 24, 1943 – May 29, 1989) was an American guitarist. Cipollina was the founder and lead guitarist of the San Francisco rock band Quicksilver Messenger Service. He was also a member of Copperhead and San Francisco All Stars.
