- Scope and ContentsThe Deborah Chessler collection is dated 1950 and contains undated materials. The collection is comprised of newspaper clippings featuring the Orioles, two pieces of sheet music written by Chessler, “Its Too Soon to Know” and “Forgive and Forget,” and a telegram.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryDeborah Chessler (1923- October 10, 2012) was an American songwriter known for the 1948 rhythm and blues hit, “It’s Too Soon to Know” by the Orioles. Chessler also managed the Orioles until 1954.
- NotesAcquisition Note: The Deborah Chessler Collection was received by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as a gift from Deborah Chessler on May 30, 1995.
