- Scope and ContentsThe Art Chantry Posters are dated 1982 and 1994 and contain undated materials. The 11 posters in the collection were designed by Art Chantry and feature Pacific Northwest bands Mono Men, Romeo Void, Gang of Four, Gruntruck, and 7 Year Bitch. The Art Chantry Posters document the music scene in Seattle during the 1980s to mid-1990s and provide a sampling of Chantry's artistic work. The posters are arranged alphabetically by band/museum.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryArt Chantry is a Seattle, Washington based graphic designer known for designing posters for Pacific Northwest bands. Chantry's works are designed by hand with the use of X-acto knives, Xerox machines, and photoset type. His works have been exhibited at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, Seattle Museum of Art, Museum of Modern Art, the Smithsonian, and the Louve.
