- Biography / Administrative HistoryR.E.M. was an American alternative band from Athens, Georgia. R.E.M. was founded in 1980 by lead singer Michael Stipe, lead guitarist Peter Buck, bassist Mike Mills, and drummer Bill Berry. R.E.M. were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. They disbanded in 2011.
Nancy-Pat Scanlon, a native of Buffalo, New York, became a R.E.M. fan in 1985. - NotesSeparated Materials: R.E.M.
