Biography / Administrative History
Vincent Vigil began collecting rock photography in 1988 with the purchase of two Linda McCartney prints. Ten years later, he studied photography and read about photography collectors, ultimately deciding he wanted to collect prints, negatives, slides, and transparencies. The Beatles are his primary focus, collecting unseen, behind-the-scenes, and spontaneous images. The Beatles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988. Other notable figures in Vigil's collection include Davie Bowie (inducted in 1996) and Eric Clapton (inducted in 2000).
