Biography / Administrative History
Little Richard helped lay the foundation for rock and roll in the Fifties with his spine-tingling rock and roll and wild performances. Little Richard first recorded in a bluesy vein in 1951, but it was his tenure at Specialty Records beginning in 1955 that made his mark as a rock and roll architect. After a brief sabbatical in 1957 to enroll in Bible college, Little Richard returned to rock and roll during the British Invasion in 1964 and has remained actively involved in music ever since. Little Richard was inducted in to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986.
The Boston Tea Party concert venue in Boston, Massachusetts operated from 1967 to 1970. It was associated with the psychedelic movement and hosted many rock and roll artists.
