The Big Day Out Collection contains documents and posters related to the advertising and planning of the Big Day Out music festival in Australia. It includes a poster and flyer from the first festival in 1992, as well as posters from nearly every other year through 2014. The documents include artist itineraries, stage and site designs, and clippings.

Big Day Out was a music festival held in Australia and New Zealand. It began in Sydney, Australia, in 1992 and expanded over the years to become a traveling festival that stopped at five cities in Australia and Auckland, New Zealand. There was no festival in 1998. In more recent years the festival experienced difficulties with scheduling and securing headlining artists, and as of November 2014 the future of the festival was uncertain.

Acquisition Note: The Big Day Out Collection was received by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc., as a gift from festival co-founder Ken West on April 7, 2014.
