The Joel Makower Woodstock Interviews Collection is comprised of 55 individual audiocassette tapes. The tapes are recordings of interviews between the donor and people who participated in the original Woodstock music festival in 1969 in either an organizational or performance capacity. The interviews are also the subject of Woodstock: The Oral History written by Makower. The audiocassettes are stored in their original order as received.
Biography / Administrative History
Joel Makower currently works in the field of environmental business, focusing on helping businesses develop sustainable practices. He has been a nationally syndicated columnist on this subject and others, and is the author of several related books.
Existence and Location of Originals
Preservation digitization of all audiocassettes in this collection was completed on September 27, 2018. Digital copies are available upon request (DAMS).
