- Scope and ContentsThe Ian Whitcomb Collection documents Whitcomb's career as an entertainer from 1965-2011. It primarily consists of audiovisual and promotional materials that demonstrate his multiple talents. This collection will interest researchers of the British Invasion, as well as those with a focus on pre-rock-and-roll genres such as ragtime and vaudeville.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryIan Whitcomb is a British entertainer, singer, songwriter, author, record producer, and actor. He was part of the British Invasion with the hit song "You Turn Me On" in 1965, and his later work explored the genres of ragtime, Tin Pan Alley, vaudeville, and music hall. From 2010-2011, Whitcomb hosted the Ian Whitcomb Show on XM satellite radio, where he played an eclectic mix of songs, ranging from the 1920s to the 1950s.
