- Biography / Administrative HistoryBobby Elliott is an English rock drummer and has been playing with the Hollies since 1963. Having discovered jazz at a young age, Elliott became a self-taught musician. Before the Hollies, Elliott performed with Johnny Theakston and the Tremeloes, Shane Fenton and the Fentones, and Ricky Shaw and the Dolphins where Elliott met Tony Hicks who would eventually leave to join the Hollies with Elliott shortly following. Bobby Elliott was inducted as a member of the Hollies into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010.
The Hollies are a British rock group best known for their distinctive multi-part harmonies, which made them one of the most musically appealing and popular bands of the British Invasion. The Hollies became one of the leading British groups of the 1960s and mid 1970s with over 30 charting singles on the UK Singles Chart and 22 on the Billboard Hot 100. The band was formed by Allan Clarke and Graham Nash but Nash left the group in 1968 to form Crosby, Stills & Nash and since 1968 the band has had a rotating list of members. The members inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame include Allan Clarke, Graham Nash, Tony Hicks, Eric Haydock, Bobby Elliottt, Bernie Calvert, and Terry Sylvester. The Hollies are one of the few UK groups of the early 1960s that have never disbanded and continue to record and perform. The Hollies were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2010. - NotesAcquisition Note: The Bobby Elliot Collection was received by the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame as gifts from Bobby Elliot on October 23, 2002 and February 1, 2010.
