- Scope and ContentsThe Martin "Red" Schwartz Collection spans the years from 1973 to 1976 and includes undated materials. The collection consists of Schwartz's business papers, including notes on radio station promotion from around the country as they relate to the record labels that employed Schwartz; contact lists and addresses for radio station liaisons; correspondence with radio stations and local organizations; lists of radio stations that played singles from Schwartz's record label employers and other sales analysis documents; a Polydor promotion manager's manual and Billboard programming guide to progressive rock radio stations. The files are organized chronologically.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryMartin "Red" Schwartz was employed by several different record labels from the 1940s through the 1970s, including Veejay Records, Sony, Polydor, and Farr, among others. Based in Southern California, his work as a record label promotions manager led to both business and personal relationships with on-air personalities around the United States, including Dick Clark, Gary Owens, and many more.
