The Lesley Gore Collection contains the original arrangements for "Judy's Turn To Cry" and "She's a Fool," and a movie poster for The Legendary Ladies, featuring Lesley Gore, Brenda Lee, Ronnie Spector, and Mary Wells, among others. The collection provides insight to the career of Lesley Gore, as well as women in music in the 1960s and 1970s.
Biography / Administrative History
Born Lesley Sue Goldstein, Lesley Gore is an American singer, best known for her 1963 pop hit, "It's My Party", which she recorded at the age of 16. Gore was one of the most recognized teen pop singers of the 1960s, whose other hits include, "She's a Fool" and "You Don't Own Me." Her career slowed down during the 1970s, but she continues to be a female pop music icon.
