Scope and Contents
The Patrick Montgomery Video Masters consist of 20 1-inch open reel master video tapes. The tapes are all undated and contain various subject matter pertaining to rock music in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. Topics include: the Beatles and the British invasion, girl groups, Elvis and rockabilly, hard rock, San Francisco psychedelic rock, singer songwriters, teen idols, and surf music. This videos provide insight to rock music films, as well as the documentation of music in the 1950s through the 1970s. The videos are arranged alphabetically by label title.
Biography / Administrative History
Patrick Montgomery is a writer, producer, and director of documentaries. His work on rock music includes <title render="italic">British Rock: The First Wave</title>, <title render="italic">The Compleat Beatles</title>, and <title render="italic">Rock and Roll: The Early Days</title>. Montgomery also produced two episodes of <title render="italic">Biography</title> on Sammy Davis, Jr., and Bing Crosby for the Arts and Entertainment Network.

Acquisition Note: The Patrick Montgomery Video Masters were received by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, Inc. as a gift from Patrick Montgomery on March 7, 2008.
