- Scope and ContentsThis reel of super 8mm film is of the Schaefer Music Festival in Central Park, New York. It includes performances by Little Richard and Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Riders, recorded on July 18, 1970. The film is silent and in color.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryThe Schaefer Music Festival was held in the summer between 1968 and 1976 at the Wollman Skating Rink in New York City's Central Park. Beginning life in 1966 as the Rheingold Central Park Music Festival, the series was sponsored by F. & M. Schaefer Brewing Company. Club owner and musician Hilly Kristal co-founded the series with producer and concert promoter Ron Delsener. Also appearing at the festival in 1970, along with Little Richard and Wayne Cochran and the C.C. Riders, were Ray Charles, Buddy Rich, the Band, the Four Seasons, Ike and Tina Turner, Four Tops, Van Morrison, the Byrds, Arlo Guthrie, Peggy Lee, John Sebastian, Iron Butterfly, Duane Allman, Dave Brubeck, Jethro Tull, Patti LaBelle, the Supremes, the Everly Brothers, Sam and Dave, the Guess Who, and Fleetwood Mac.
