- Scope and ContentsThe collection spans the years 1970 to 2022 and consists of six photographs of recording engineer Bob Leefe, one CD of his recordings, several clippings, and correspondence from his son, Eric Leefe. It also contains one digital video file of "God's Canvas," a short film profiling Eric Leefe in the recording studio.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryRobert Leefe was a recording engineer who worked for RCA and later Allegro. In 1956 he recorded "Jailhouse Rock" for Elvis Presley. From 1969-1973 he worked as the head musical engineer at Allegro, where in 1970 he spearheaded the development of the first mobile recording studio, intended for recording live concerts. During the 1970s and 1980s he worked for both Nola Recording Studios and Atlantic Records. Leefe retired from Atlantic Records in 1981.
