- Scope and ContentsCollection consists of one 11-page flip chart from an advertising / sales presentation for Circus, and one color proof of an advertisement for Circus' 1991 Unsigned Band Contest. The collection provides insight to the business of rock music magazines during the early 1990s, as well as the practice of advertising to teenagers.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryOriginally titled Hullabaloo, Circus was an American rock music magazine first published in 1966. During its 40-year run, Circus employed notable rock journalists Kurt Loder and David Fricke, and shifted focus over the years from hard rock and heavy metal to pop culture and grunge. The magazine floundered during the 1990s and ceased publication in 2006.
