In the film, the Beatles agree to accompany Captain Fred in his Yellow Submarine, and go to Pepperland to free it from the music hating Blue Meanies. Notes Acquisition Note: The Yellow Submarine Cel was received by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, Inc. as a gift from Robert Chad Smith, Eric Ian Spoutz, and Rosemary Hornak on April 7, 2011. The cel was previously owned by the artist Ian Hornak, who received it as a gift from Paul McCartney in the early 1970s.
