- Scope and ContentsThe Yellow Submarine Cel depicts John Lennon and George Harrison in a scene from the Beatles' 1968 motion picture Yellow Submarine. It measures 16x12.5".
- Biography / Administrative HistoryYellow Submarine is a 90-minute animated feature film with the Beatles from 1968. In the film, the Beatles agree to accompany Captain Fred in his Yellow Submarine, and go to Pepperland to free it from the music hating Blue Meanies.
- NotesAcquisition Note: The Yellow Submarine Cel was received by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Museum, Inc. as a gift from Robert Chad Smith, Eric Ian Spoutz, and Rosemary Hornak on April 7, 2011. The cel was previously owned by the artist Ian Hornak, who received it as a gift from Paul McCartney in the early 1970s.
