Scope and Contents
The Collection on Granicus contains photographs and biographical material related to the short-lived Cleveland-based hard rock band Granicus. The collection provides unique insight to the rock music culture of Rust Belt-era Cleveland.
Biography / Administrative History
Granicus was a hard rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio, around 1970. Made up of lead singer Woody Leffel, guitarists Wayne Anderson and Al Pinelli, bassist Dale Bedford, and drummer Joe Battaglia, Granicus released their self-titled debut on RCA in 1973. Although the band broke up shortly thereafter, Granicus reunited to release Thieves, Liars, and Traitors in 2010.
