- Scope and ContentsThe Drag City Collection consists of audiocassette recordings, posters, and promotional material for both Drag City Records and the artists appearing on the record label, spanning the years 1990 to 1995. Artists covered by materials in the collection include Pavement, Palace Brothers, and Royal Trux.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryDrag City Records is an independent record label founded in Chicago, Illinois, by Dan Koretzky and Dan Osborn. Specializing in intellectual artists with a minimalist sound, Drag City is also known for reissues. Notable examples of reissues include Nig-Heist, Crisis of Conformity, Carol Kleyn, and Mickey Newbury. Artists that have released material on Drag City include Edith Frost, Ghost, Will Oldham, Jim O'Rourke, Pavement, Red Krayola, Royal Trux, and Silver Jews. Over the twenty years it has been in operation, Drag City has slowly been expanding its output to include both books and film, as well as music.
