Scope and Contents
The Duane Sycz Photographs collection contains images taken in the early 1990s and 2010-2013 by Duane Sycz of DRS Photography primarily at Ohio concert venues, including Blossom Music Center, the Covelli Centre, Quicken Loans Arena, and Richfield Coliseum. Various performers are pictured, including Chuck Berry, Alice Cooper, Lady Gaga, Brett Michaels of Poison, Ted Nugent, and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. The collection consists of 13 printed photographs and 557 jpeg files on three DVD-RW discs. The predominant size of the printed photographs is 14" x 11". The collection provides a sampling of Sycz's photographic work for various live performances in Ohio. Seen in a broader context, the collection provides insight into the artists who toured the Ohio area, their stage and lighting setups, and the fashions of the period. The Duane Sycz Photographs are arranged alphabetically by performer.
Biography / Administrative History
Duane Sycz, owner of DRS Photography, has been working as a professional photographer since 1982, when he turned a hobby into a full-time career. Sycz has shot photographs all across the United States, but Northeast Ohio is his home base. During his career he has photographed bands, live performances, corporate events, advertising, weddings, models, portraits, animals, and professional sporting events. His partial client list includes Gund Arena, Edward Jones, Ted Nugent, Sony Music, and Van Halen.

Acquisition Note: The Duane Sycz Photographs collection was received by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum as gifts from Duane Sycz beginning in February of 2011 and continuing through 2014. It includes photographs given to the Museum at an earlier unknown date.
