The Beatles were one of the most influential rock bands in history. Formed in Liverpool, England in 1960, the Beatles were made up of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They released 12 studio albums in the United Kingdom (17 in the United States) and hold the distinction of being the best selling band of all time. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1988.

The Stephen J. Small Collection on the Beatles contains eight photographs, one postcard, one 1/4 inch audio tape and an accompanying digital audio file on a flash drive. The photographs feature a Beatles press conference in Boston, Massachusetts on September 12, 1964, and the audio tape contains a recording of the same press conference, as well as an interview with Brian Wilson dated August 1964. The digital audio file is a copy of the audio tape.
