- Biographie / Histoire administrativeThe Hearing Aid Music Foundation was founded by Daniel Beck to distribute the educational film "Listen Smart: Safely Handling the Power of Sound" (2004). The film's intent was to educate consumers about how to best handle full volume music. It was distributed throughout the United States and used in approximately 300 school districts. The Foundation closed in 2023.
- Etendue et contenuThe Hearing Aid Music Foundation Records span the years 2000 to 2012 and are divided into two series. Series I: Administrative Records consists of correspondence, legal documents, and production notes for the organization's educational film "Listen Smart: Safely Handling the Power of Sound" (2004). Series II: Audio and video recordings consists of one audiocassette and approximately 56 videotapes of unedited and final production cuts of "Listen Smart." The recordings contain unedited interviews with artists discussing the dangers of performing live and listening to music at full volume. Artists of note include Debbie Harry, Wyclef Jean, Cyndi Lauper, Linkin Park, Moby, Ozzy Osbourne, Russell Simmons, and Lars Ulrich. The Hearing Aid Music Foundation Records will be useful to researchers interested in the artist's perspective on the volume of live performances.
