Vans Warped Tour Poster and Photograph

Started by Kevin Lyman in 1994, the Vans Warped Tour is an annual tour festival that features punk and alternative music and extreme sports. The first U.S. tour began in 1995; the first international tour, in 1998. The tour started as a skate punk and third wave ska tour, but later began to feature mostly post-hardcore, pop punk, and metalcore acts. There are also hardcore, street punk, and older bands that have played the tour numerous times since its inception. With upwards of 100 bands playing for an average of 20,000 people on 10 stages, the Vans Warped Tour become a summer staple for both its music and the community atmosphere created around it. The final full cross country tour ran in 2018, with three additional events taking place in 2019 to celebrate the 25th anniversary.
