- Scope and ContentsThe Moonalice Collection consists of four electronic files: two PDF files that log the downloads of the Moonalice single "It's 4:20 Somewhere" over the course of two years (November 2009-November 2011) and two audio files for the same song (MP3, FLAC). Moonalice was the first band to reach 1 million downloads of a song from its own servers, without distribution on a label.
- Biography / Administrative HistoryMoonalice is a San Francisco-based band featuring John Molo on drums; Barry Sless on lead guitar; Pete Sears on bass, guitar, and keyboards; Ann McNamee on bass and keyboards; and Chubby Wombat Moonalice on bass and guitar. Written by Ann McNamee, G.E. Smith, Anonymous, and Roger McNamee, "It's 4:20 Somewhere" was recorded and mixed by Dave Way, and appears on the Moonalice EP, Dave's Way #1, released January 15, 2011. Moonalice has long used social networking to connect with its listeners, via Twittercast concerts, where it shares links to songs for an entire show; Facecasts (the Facebook equivalent); and broadcasting a song an hour over Twitter on Moonalice Radio. Moonalice also offers free live videocasts in HD of nearly every one of their performances. The band's archives of more than four hundred audio shows and 60 videos can also be found on its Website.
