Gary Owens, born May 10, 1936, is an American disc jockey and voice actor. Owens started his career working throughout the Midwest and southern U.S. in the late-1950s. He began working at KEWB in Oakland, California in 1959. In 1961, Owens moved to KFWB in Los Angeles. From there, he joined the staff of KMPC in 1962, where he remained for the next two decades. He is currently the voice of the over-the-air digital network Antenna TV. Throughout his career, he has worked as a voice announcer for many programs and is widely known as the voice of Space Ghost on Space Ghost and the announcer on Space Ghost Coast to Coast.

The Gary Owens Papers span the years 1959 to 1962 and include some undated material. The Papers contain photographs of Owens, a handwritten biography, a membership card, and printed ephemera from different radio stations. The collection provides evidence of Owens' career as a radio disc jockey and highlights the importance and the role of disc jockeys in the music industry. The Gary Owens Papers are arranged first by type of material, and then chronologically.
