Biography / Administrative History
The Ventures were formed in 1958 by Don Wilson and Bob Bogle. They pioneered electric guitar sounds and became the most successful instrumental rock band in history. Influenced by multiple genres from surf music to psychedelia, they have released over 250 albums and recorded over 1,000 songs. The Ventures were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2008.
Scope and Contents
The Ventures Audio Recording is a 1/4" audiotape recording of The Ventures in concert at the United States Naval Communications Station in Guam on August 21, 1968. The concert was recorded by donor David W. Ringlaben. The tape also includes several album recordings by The Ventures; also included is the donor's handwritten tracklist.
