Biography / Administrative History
Born in St. Louis, Tom Reed graduated from Los Angeles City College with a degree in Broadcasting in 1961. He has spent more than 50 years as a deejay and television personality in Los Angeles. Reed is the founder and executive producer of Black Accent on L.A. / For Members Only (FMO) -TV and Black Accent on L.A. Press. He is also the author of The Black Music History of Los Angeles: Its Roots.
Scope and Contents
The Black Accent on L.A. Collection consists of a small number of clippings and audiovisual materials, related to the history of black music in Los Angeles and produced by Tom Reed's company, Black Accent on L.A.
