Prince Paul is an American record producer, disc jockey, and recording artist from Amityville, New York. He gained major recognition for producing "3 Feet High and Rising" (1989), the debut album by De La Soul, which introduced innovative approaches to hip hop production, mixing, and sampling, including the use of comedic skits.
