John Holmstrom is an American cartoonist. Holmstrom was the founding editor of Punk magazine and worked with the Ramones to illustrate album covers.
The Ramones were a New York band founded in 1974 that helped launch the punk rock movement in New York City and London. The Ramones were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

The John Holmstrom Collection contains artwork and ephemera that document Punk magazine and New York City's music scene from approximately 1976-1985. This collection provides insight into the underground art and artists that were immersed in and inspired by punk culture.
