Biografie / Verwaltungsgeschichte
Billy Preston (September 2, 1946 - June 6, 2006) was an American rhythm and blues musician from Houston, Texas. Preston collaborated with many Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, including the Beatles, Rolling Stones, the Band, Nat King Cole, Little Richard, Eric Burdon, Ray Charles, Elton John, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Sam Cooke, King Curtis, Aretha Franklin, Jackson Five, Quincy Jones, Mick Jagger, Sly Stone, Johnny Cash, Neil Diamond, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Preston is one of only two non-Beatles to receive billing as an artist alongside the Beatles on an official Beatles record release; having played the Fender Rhodes electric piano and Hammond organ on the "Get Back" sessions in 1969.
