The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum Collection is an artificial collection created by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum over time and it is organized into five series: Series I: Documents and Photographs, Series II: Programs, Series III: Atlantic Records Files, Series IV: Audiovisual Materials, and Series V: Posters. The collection is arranged by format and alphabetically within each series.
Series I: Documents and Photographs is dated 1953 to 2015 and contains undated materials. The series includes fan club materials, clippings, flyers, handbills, promotional materials, press kits, photographs, lyrics, and set lists. Featured artists include Ramones, Beatles, Metallica, Four Tops, Alan Freed and Dick Clark.
Series II: Programs is dated 1954 to 2012 and includes undated materials. The series consists of programs and features Alan Freed, Everly Brothers, Four Tops, Gene Pitney, Madonna and the Temptations.
Series III: Atlantic Records Files is dated 1956-1977 and includes undated materials. The series contains records for Atlantic Records and the ATCO, FAME, STAX, and VOLT labels. Materials include label copy, correspondence, session notes, and quality control reports. Artists featured include Ruth Brown, Buffalo Springfield, John Coltrane, Drifters, Aretha Franklin, Otis Redding.
Series IV: Audiovisual Materials are dated 1960 and 2006. The series consists of a 45rpm record of Johnny Cash and a video tape of CBGB closing on October 15, 2006.
Series V: Posters is dated 1968 and 2015. The posters include Nina Simone and the Vogues at Bushnell Memorial.
