The John Ferree Digital Collection on Paul McCartney includes one digital recording of a radio broadcast written, produced, and recorded by John Ferree at radio station WAPE (Jacksonville, Florida) in October 1969 about the rumor that Paul McCartney had died. The broadcast aired twice on October 24, 1969 and again on October 25, 1969.
Biography / Administrative History
John Ferree was a disc jockey for WAPE (FM radio station in Jacksonville, Florida) from 1967 to 1971. “Honest John” was his on-air name.
