Biography / Administrative History
Christine Anne Perfect, known as Christine McVie (July 12, 1943) is a British singer and songwriter, best known as the keyboardist and co-lead vocalist of the band Fleetwood Mac. McVie is known for her low alto vocals and simple, direct, but meaningful lyrics. Several of McVie's songs written for Fleetwood Mac, including "Over my Head," "Say You Love Me," "You Make Loving Fun," and "Don't Stop" repeatedly put Fleetwood Mac on American national Top 20 charts and on American mainstream radio. She remained a member of Fleetwood Mac for 25 years, and released three solo albums: 1970's Christine Perfect; 1984's Christine McVie; and 2004's In the Meantime. McVie, as a member of Fleetwood Mac, was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998, and with bandmates Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, was named 83rd greatest living songwriter or songwriting team by Paste magazine in 2006.
