Scope and Contents
The Emin Batlak Photographs consist of 10 scans of photographs that show bands performing and making appearances in Cleveland and Akron in the 1970s. The collection documents music events in Cleveland through the early- to mid-1970s, including the Mayor's proclamation of August 24, 1976 as "Wild Cherry Day," as well as performances by Rod Stewart and Aerosmith in the World Series of Rock in August of 1975, and a performance of Jefferson Airplane circa 1972. This collection would be of interest to researchers interested in Cleveland and Northeast Ohio's connections to rock history and bands of the 1970s. All photographs by Emin Batlak.
